My daily driver is a '79 4x4 LUV. Runs and drives very well, needs some tlc here and there. Has a lot of rust...fender corners, cab floor, bed sides and floor, and frame. I have a '75 with no motor that is rust free and am thinking of putting that cab and fenders on my 4x4 frame. Would this work? What would I need to look out for? I will post pictures of the two trucks this evening after work. Any other ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. :smt024

I am on the LUV truck Facebook page and recently asked this question. The only thing so far anyone has told me is the clutch cable/pedal assembly and wiring harness. Everything else should match up, correct?

I can't think of many differences between the 75 and 79s that couldn't be overcome rather easily. You'll need to make a hole for the 4wd selector. The gauge cluster on the 75 is different. The 75 has (I think) a hydraulic clutch where the 79 has a cable. The 75 has drum brakes all around, the 79 has discs. The reason I point this out is to let you know to be sure to use the 79s master cylinder and booster.

I don't think I'm missing anything. Sounds like a good project.

Thanks, I'll post some pictures of the two trucks and I also have a stock pile of fairly good parts if anyone is looking.
