Some of you don't think much of the 2nd gen LUV. That's ok, there's no accounting for taste! ;) But just for the record, an '81 diesel Isuzu P'up in "mint" condition was listed on eBay and the auction just closed. Would it surprise anybody that the final bid was $10,100? And it didn't meet reserve. Personally, it looks to me like the seller really didn't want to sell. But there was at least one person who was willing to pay over 10G for it. I would assume the '81-'82 diesel LUV would have been about the same value, since it's the same truck.

Darn the luck, I just bought a VW Thing and not enough money left over.

67 bids? Clicking on the bid history, 18 of the last 19 bids were most likely by the seller using another id. The same bidder with a feedback of (3) bid $10,100 nine times. On high value items, always look at the bids to see who is bidding. If there are new bidders or bidders with little feedback, you should use caution that bid-jacking is happening.

The final price wasn't accurate.

It's called "shill bidding" and it does happen. But you can't say with any certainty that the last bid was not a legitimate bid. Since the reserve was not met, we may never know.

For what it's worth, this is at least the second time it's been listed on eBay by this seller. The high bid was $10,900 the first time. One of the IsuzuPup.com members talked with the seller. He's trying to get $14,000+ for it.

No biggie.

I'm pretty sure this is for real. A restoration at this level of detail would cost WAAAY too much. And some of the stuff is not even available to do it. I'm not saying it's perfect, just that I think it's what it says it is.

The thing is like new. $10K easy. Just a bad time to sell anything.
