well i pulled out the engine and trans. but i was wondering if i can get rid of all the wiring and stuff all i want is the lights

Oh and why are you putting in a 305? it would be much better to go 327/350.

im lucky im able to put a 305 in it... my dad dont even want me with a 305 right now. One day it will have a s/c'ed ls1/4l60e hopefully :twisted:

well if your dad dosnt whant a real motor in there just sneaky like get a 350. Thier the same size, he wont notice :wink:
Oh and about the wiring, i dont realy know if youll gain too much but pulling it. But if you do, be shure to get a wiring diagram so you now what your pulling though.

I guess your gonna have to remove the entire harness and lay it out on a piece of plywood like it is on the truck. Label all of your switches and connections and go thru the wiring diagram for that year. Start removing wires that your sure you dont want back to a splice or connection. Keep doing this until your satisfied with what you want. Thats the cleanest way of dealing with it. nobody can tell you exactly what wire to remove unless they're at the truck.
