Just to let everyone know, I have FINALLY started on my LUV today. I will see if pictures can be posted and put updates on here as I proceed. As I am by no means a professional in doing this, any suggestions, comments, etc. will be greatly appreciated. Of course this project will be done over a great deal of time, (shooting for 18 months), so please just put up with my pace. If you want to reply to my posts, you can also send them right to my e-mail address. Hope you get some good info from my progress, mistakes, and major screw-ups. Stay tuned....

What I would LIKE to do, is put the Chevy 283 that has been sitting in my garage for 4 years in it, make some narrow fender flares for the front end and have them blend into an air dam. Of course the mandatory sun/moon roof and a 'flat' bed cover. The Mrs. and I have dicussed putting the oval tailights from a Corvette in the tailgate and recessing the license plate too. Being a stepside this shouldn't be too hard as I plan to fabricate a new tailgate anyway. Now the exhaust, I would like to try dumping right in front of the rear tires similar to the Mustang GT (I think is is). We were talking about black side pipes at first but now I will probably just run the exhaust pipe along the side and turn it out with a nice large chrome tip. To hide the exhaust, I will fabricate a fiberglass or sheetmetal fairing which will also make the truck appear to sit lower to the road. The interior will consist of seats from a Honda Del Sol and a home made dash (don't know just how that will turn out) and be pretty much functional and easy to maintain without being flashy. Whatever else will be done as I come up to it. If this sounds a bit like a truck from the '70's or so, it does as I am 44 years old and grew up with those custom mods as a norm. This is a truck I have been wanting for over twenty years, but never expected to get it. Now that I have one, I have to put my ideas down on paper and in sheet metal. Any inputs from others on tips/tricks will be appreciated.
