I was between Auburn and Grass Valley and saw 2 Luvs off Combie road. The first was 72/73 Luv with a new Red paint job. The 2nd was a yellow stepside (didn't get a close look at it). I'm hopefully have mine back on the road in a couple months.

I got my '80 from up there in G.V. It actually was first from down here, then the owners moved up there, then I bought it and brought back down here.

I am getting closer to driving my Luv. It's not registered for the road, but I took it for a few short drives on my road (it's private, so I can get away it). It be cool to go cruise and come across other Luvs. 8)

I'm in Newcastle.
I've had my 79 for a few years now. It's been non-oped for a year or so because I knew it wouldn't pass smog. I did most of the work it needs to pass but then bought a chev 3/4 ton (needed for my house restorations) and the 79 has just been sitting and waiting.
Last year I bought a 74 for a few hundred and drove it home. It's registered and has current tags but isn't really safe to drive. It's been sitting around waiting too. I've got front disc-brake stuff for it, some little odds and ends and want to set it up with a later year 1.8 or 1.9, weber, AC and an automatic (I'm done with manual trannys).
I've also got an 80 long bed with 4 speed that a former member here gave me a few months ago.
I wish I could get my act together enough to smog pass the 79 and then get the 80 running and if it's engine is good I'd like to put it in the 74 with the AC from the 79.
I want to keep the 74 and sell the others...

I should sell my 72 Jeep Commando too... I built it up for driving to Moab, wheeling the killer trails out there and then driving back which I've done three times. Been on the Rubicon and other Seirra trails too. It's got a stock 304 V8, low gear modified TH400, low gear modified Dana300 transfercase with twin sticks, body lift and spring over, 4.10 geared wide 85 CJ axles with WARN front axles/hubs and the 20 rear has WARN's fullfloater mods, both have PowrLoks. I've not even turned her over in the last year...

WHOA! I've had the 79 4 years now! The older I get the more time retarded I get...
