I'd just like to throw my hat in the ring and say my buddy and I run a waterjet shop (Omax 55100 with Tilt-a-Jet) and I might be able to give you a competitive price on the flanges. We can cut practically anything up to 6in thick and maintain .005" tolerance.

Plus we also do precision welding (my boss is an incredible welder) at the shop too, but the weld shop is kinda swamped right now. Also, I have a TIG at home. I've just completed my TIG course at the CC and sent in my cert plates for aluminum and stainless, the welds might not be the prettiest but I'm cheap and could have a quick turn-around. My stainless/mild welds are really nice, but my TIG at home lacks pulsing so they might not be as pretty in aluminum. PM me if you want to discuss it further.

8O awesome, if i can find a cheap set of R1 carbs floating around craigslist or ebay for a decent price i may have to buy one of those manifolds from ya.

Ok, let me know... I found mine on eBay but have seen them go for $25 to about $200 ... also you can see if you can find any bike breakers around and see what they will charge

very true.
wouldn't basically any 40mm quad carb setup work? most of the Japanese crotch-rockets have similar carb setups and so do a lot of the European bikes. just comes down to tuning the jetting.
have you decided how much your charging for the manifolds?

No price yet ... I will make some changes to theses and have another set made but also try to do so locally to save money...
As for carbs they would have to have the same spacing as the R1 to work on the manifold or you may have to modify the carbs to fit... everyone recommends the R1 for this type but yes you could use any bike carbs

you dont think there is going to be a large reduction in torque and power?

remember by going to an individual runner intake your going to encounter alot of pumping losses.

Id be worried the stock motor would trip all over itself with that much carb.

not sure as I have seen this done on 1300 to 2600 cc inline 4 motors and all liked the R1 carbs except the 2.5 and 2.6 motors as they needed a bigger car, (42/43mm) not the 40mm R1...

Hope to find out soon. I know guys in AU have had 45mm duel Weber on there’s

i looked into it a bit. the R1 carbs are running a 1000cc engine at 16,000+ rpm and making massive power. rejetted for a 1800cc engine running 2,000-6,500 there would be no shortage of power. with a reground cam to utilize the air you are taking in the R1 carbs are going to be beastly :ebiggrin 8O  :D
