Yes... that will be the way I do my first test and tune , all stock but the carbs... then I will replace the dizzy and use the computer to tune to see how much better it is... but yes you can use the stock dizzy an electronic one or even the msd type if you wanted...

What about having a custom forged pistons made with valve reliefs?A little more clearance at the valves with give you a little more room for cylinder quench.Make sure to have a plateau finish for the newer rings!
Also what about a gear drive for the timing set?It will handle more rpms and handle more stress load?
By the way the little bugger sounds like a sewing machine on steroids!

not sure about that or where to get the pistons done... as for the gear drive i not sure as it would take probably 4 gears to work its way down the narrow passage ...

Ok got the motor back in from the opel into the luv... same G180 as the luv... any way here are a few pics ....

This is the sensor for the timing. Will not use it at first as i want to run the carbs without the mega jolt then will work on geting the computer in it......

well fixed the leaks , the float seat where dirty still... now just need to get some 175 main jets and test it out some more then make the air filter box or may go with individual filters just not sure yet...

agreed
and individual filters would be simple to find, relatively cheap and go with the look of the engine.
4 carb, 4 header tubes, 4 air filters its all individually setup go with the flow 8) then if u have any kind of problem it will be simple to findout which cylinder is giving you issues.
im thinking i may have to get myself a setup like this. mine isnt working out to well for me... i hate that stock carb
