Went to the track last nite and saw a pretty cool looking Luv. It was backhalved with stock front suspension and about a 10pt cage. It also had a big block and I got a pretty good look at the firewall and the tunnel, etc.
I think I have a new appreciation for what Rat must of gone through. It takes a lot of work to do that. Sorry, no pics, left the camera at home. Maybe next time. Oh, and he broke, so no time. Sucks.

I was there too but we left around 10. damn match races shoudl eb the first thing. That luv runs 9.40's in the 1/4. has anyone ever seen under the hood of Jose's luv? I have seen the truck numerous times, but never with the hood off. when he goes to the track, he unloads it off trailor, makes a pass, then dont run it again till the match races begin.

It was this maroon min-tubbed chevy II with the cowl scoop I think.

I seen under there before, pretty nice. Has some custom headers that go through the fenderwells and under the outside of the cab and exit in front of the tires. Coilovers on front and Cal tracs on back. Motor is an aluminum headed 400 I believe is what I've heard. Nice aluminum radiator, electric fan, pretty much just think of everything nice you would like to have on yours and he has it. Yea Angleton was alright, pretty good turnout for just a few days notice.

How is that new track down there? My cousin lives in Brazoria and races a 70 Nova, I know he's pretty pumped about it.
BTW- you guys are right, that LUV does look pretty tame to be running those times. Hot Damn! :o

Its new and needs some work but I think it will be just fine. The pits were in bad shape and had mud everywhere so of course it found its way on the track and looked like it caused a few accidents. From what I could tell it hooked great just seemed to be lose down track.

that would be cool. The last guy i asked about custom headers out here said he wanted $1800 for a set of stepped fenderwells 2" primary down to a 1 7/8" and a 3 1/2" collector. but they would be street rod sano quality. I dont care about how they look, they just have to perform so 18 hunsky was too much for me.
