Recently in the message board there has been problems with a couple of members. I would like to make a statement about this. At some point, everyone on this site walked up to a Chevy Luv for the first time. And from that time they found out things about this truck that they didn't know about. I myself have dealt with these trucks since the mid 70's and bought my truck in 1981. And to this day, i am still finding out things about these little Chevys?Isuzus? stock or not. Some of us can say that we have forgotten more about the Luv than you'll ever know and if we were to take a manual for the truck and rip out the pages that did not pertian to the truck anymore, we would have a manual that used to be about an inch thick that's now about an 1/8" thin.
BUT! If somebody finds themselves owning a Luv and finding this site, they are lucky. Yes! Lucky! This site is a resource of info, specific help and ideas. New owners have a clean shot at getting help. Those of us that bought our trucks back when Moses was in high school had to figure out alot of stuff on our own. When i bought my truck i had to jump right into the middle of California emmissions and this i did not like at all. So regardless of any questions that someone new to the Luv may have, we must keep in mind that we were once in their shoes.
Nobody was born with a set of Luv keys in their hand.

I must of missed something. But what Blue said is so true. I know I've learned a lot since the short time ago when I became a member. Hell, Blue was trying to help me a find a truck and he don't even know me.
Q has helped me a lot also.

I musta missed something too. I don't think i have ever seen anything on this site that I would call "problems" Hell I browse a lot of street racing message boards and compared to those boards, this site is downright mellow.

I hope y'all dont mind me constantly givng my .02 all the time but the stuff I talk about comes from years (17 to be exact) of building muscle cars, conversions (LUV's and Datsuns), and a lot of research and hands on building of SBC motors. On the other hand, I have also learned a great amount about LUV's and have gotten a lot of good FAB and engineering ideas from the pics and various discussions on this site. but whatever the case I am always happy to help out the noobs or whoever asks cuz we all have a common interest... its all good.

u guys ever want to see some real shit talk.. ya gotta check out sdstreetracing.com cuz they have a shit talk section on there. HRG is also known for some entertaining banter.

Mellow is good! Except when Ratnluv gets some video of his truck (that should be wild!). Bringing your.02 cents to the table is just fine. Somebody might get an idea or two from it. 2 member taking shots at one another on the BB instantly goes off- topic and it's a waste of space regardless if one is totaly in the right or not. I guess i dont want this place to turn into a Yahoo message board.

I like the "cruise mode" on here.... its a nice change from the other boards I browse. I've had my life threatened on those boards so many times i quit counting. lol.

Ok so consider me just like any other person (even a noob) cuz i gurantee that I have a lot of questions of my own fer some of you... getting ready to back half and cage the truck soon.. going to start running the strip more and less street racing.

i agree no body know everything. but with the massive sharing of info here, everyone knows a little.

one of the things i have always loved about this little place in cyberspace is, there aint alot of the stupid bullshit. mabey it is the mature atittude of almost everyone.
ive seen way too much of the flame wars, lock posts, and shit talking. on too many other boards. i DONT wanna see this one go the same way

this site is a godsend....DONT FUCK IT UP!!!!!!!

i agree, this site has some awsome tech and is rather mellow. Despite the facts that some people get a little uppety it dosnt change the fact of good tech. But i do agree sometimes things get a little too heated.

There have been times that somebody new to the automotive world will step up and ask a question that is so simple that it takes my breath away. I first think that this person must have just fell to earth. But that isn't a reason to give them hell because there lacking knowledge. Try and look back to the days of when you were new and others had the answer to your questions. Look at them as if they were a piece of clay ready to be molded and shaped. We all are building vehicles in a way that will most likely be a lost art. Someday this will fade away and in about a hundred years, somebody will ask "Whats a Muscle Car"? I didn't know there's a vehicle that's propelled by shell fish! If somebody ask's a silly question, answer them. This form of motorsport will die off even faster if we all hoard knowledge.

So your telling me to lay it all out and dont hold anything back? Your saying that i should speak my mind freely about helping others that want to learn? If i did, i'd have to start my own website to hit all aspects of automotive performance and repair/modifications. Hell, i couldn't compete with tech schools.
