I got off work early today and on a spur of the moment we went to the strip. This is my 1st trip down the strip ever and the times are not great.
I am having severe traction problems. After 2 passes I quit and headed back home. But I am still happy because I drove it there and back home.

pass 1
60 ft 2.186
1/8 mile 8.69 at 84.61 mph.
spinning amost all the way through 2nd gear

pass 2
60 ft 2.015
8.267 at 88.42 mph.
same traction problems so I saw no need in staying.

Dissapointed and happy

The truck turns heads, even in primer. No on the Nitrous not yet. I haven't finished wiring it up because after I put the blower on I couldn't hook up so I decided to leave it alone until I get it to hook with just the motor.
The bad part is my son's S-10 (4 cly) had a better 60 foot. The power is ther if I can get it to the ground. I might end up getting slicks but I have done about all my wallet can stand for this year.

Something has happened to the posi. I just went and bought another set of clutches and will tear it apart Thursday. I am also going to do some more adjusting on the 4 link before I go back.

I am not going to be able to work on it until next week but I am going tomorrow and get some slicks. I think they are 31 x 14.50 ET Street. I have to go somewhere in it this weekend and my neighbor has his car on the rack so I will tear the rearend down next Thursday. I should be ready by the 8th of Aug. to go back to the strip.

you ever consider running a spool in it? I know what ur thinking... it's a street truck too...

I have driven several cars on the street for years on a spool. U turns become 3 pointers but it works.

I have considered it and I still might but that will be a next year thing. I am wanting to set up another chunk and I will use the posi in it for the street with a 3.70 or 3.50 gear and spool the 4.11. But as I said funds are low and for now I am going to put new clutches in it slicks and go back.

I ran a mini spool in my 9" for a couple years. Cost= $70... way cheaper than rebuilding the trac-loc diff.

My friend runs a mini spool in his 62 Nova with a 10bolt. its been in there for 12 years. I gotta admit that thought seems kinda scary because i believe it still has the C-clips in it. but it works great and was cheap.
