I just recently became a LUV'er! I'm excited to get started on my project. My truck runs great and is in overall pretty good shape. The original bench seat is made of vinyl and heats up here in this Texas heat. I want to take it out and put in a couple of bench seats, preferrably with the middle seat/armrest fold down gadget. I have no idea where to begin or what seats will fit it. Any suggestions?

I will get some pics posted as soon as I can.

Welcome, there have been a couple (dozen) threads on seats. If you use the search function, you'll even find photos of different buckets that ppl have used.

Don't throw your bench out, there are probably a couple of ppl here who might take it off your hands. You did mean 'a couple of buckets (seats)', not a couple of bench seats right? :ewink

Good luck with your truck, you're in the right place. Post photos when you get a chance.

I appreciate you responding so quickly. I did mean a couple of bucket seats, not bench seats. I have found my new seat, (bench seat) and already done the install. It's a little too small so I am still in search of my perfect seat. Thanks again!

If you want an arm rest, an s10 60/40 seat will fit, its a tad bit tall for my liking. So you could just cut or replace the mounts. Never tried to use the luv ones, dont know if that might work. I just test fit a 60/40.

Also, if you just want to get an armrest, cavalier bucket seats fit too, and they are comfortable. Mounts will have to be made again.

Dont know if you wanted to know what would fit well, or if your looking for direct bolt-in.

here is a set of s10 buckets, they have just been recovered and headrest removed. YOu can see they dont sit tooo high, but with headrests would be way up in your window IMO.

I ended up putting in some seats that I found on CL from a 1993 Honda Civic. Wow! They were super easy to install and look great. I bolted the tracks from the seats onto a couple 2X4's and bolted the 2X4's into the truck. A buddy of mine helped and we knocked out the whole thing in a couple hours. It looks great! Thanks for all the input! :smt117

depends on how tall you are, how your legs fit under the dash. Short, or short legs will take a different type of seats.
Butt width could mater too.

Temporarily mounting the seat will give a visual look at it. Just use wood for your mounts, then you cab to a fly through of it to give you a idea what the setup will be like.

I like arm rests and cup holders , It also needs to fit my b-butt
I like VW Recaro factory seats, from GTI's and GLI's, Corrado seats are closer to the floor like and corvette A porsche 914 seat is thin pad on the floor.

Check the seats for operation, for ware and tare, Smoke holes. Most of the hardware can be fixed or replaced. Check they might sell you the whole interior for not much more.

I may have some pictures it you wont to see them

I am 6'2" and have plenty of room in my LUV with bucket seats from a Geo Metro GSI. The took very little to mount them in the cab.

I used a couple out of a '99 Cavalier. I had to modify the mounts a little to fit them in nice. Very comfy.
