well I have been off work since Saturday and will be all week.. twisted 2 disc in my lower back working on my truck.. its driving me crazy just sitting around the house and I may be out a week or two, no working on the luv, around the house or work itself is driving me nuts the only way I can move around is with a cane and help ... I am not the type that can just sit I need to be out doing things I feel like a caged animal

Hey, ctman, sorry to hear about this. Not sure what you did, but if it's a sciatica thing you might want to find a pool or hot tub and hang out. Helped me a lot. Heating pads/ice packs are way more effective than topicals (Ben-Gay, BioFreeze), they penetrate much deeper. As for the getting around, the stonger you can get your lower abs, the stronger your lower back will be (to prevent this happening again). Lots of walking is an easy way to build that sort of strength. Walking in the pool helps a lot, and diminishes the fear of falling substantially.

Hope you heal well, take your time though. My most recent round with 'the back thing' actually turned out to be my hip. There is a bone in between your hips, up front and mine got jammed out of place and after a couple of weeks my back hurt like a mother. Turns out my body was compensating for the hip. Not sure what you were doing when you hurt yourself, but thought I'd throw it out there. I was really surprised when my physical therapist went that direction with treatment. Tomorrow is my last visit, and I'm just about back to normal.

Backs are sort of like teeth, they need to last our whole lives. Thing is, we don't walk with our teeth.

thanks for the info.. am doing much better , I cam walk allot easier then yesterday but still have therapy for another few days and should be back to work on Wednesday next week.. was working on the luv bent over the fender taking the intake off because of a vacuum leak. One bolt was tight so I pulled to loosen it and it pulled my feet of the ground because I was bent over the fender and then it popped and twisted the vertebra...was going to change all gaskets for the carb and intake to get rid of the leak and change the weber (something clogged in it that I cant get out) and the other weber has bigger jets to help get rid of a little flat spot at about 85 on the freeway ... so I wanted to do some fine tuning to get the max power out of her... hope to work on it more this week end.. did get the gaskets changed and the other weber on and plumbed before I couldn’t take it any more and had the wife pry me off the fender so not much work left to do on it
