It does have a license plate so technically it is a street truck, that sets off car alarms and makes kids cry. lol

That is TOO cool. From my youngster point of view, history is repeating itself and market forces are dictating the presence of a pickup with good fuel economy (like the 70s when we had no gas. Then in the Reagan years we had gas trucks got big again. Now they have to get small again because we have no gas.)

:smt078 Has none of the character our trucks have IMO. Box on wheels and just like the crew cab S10's of the late 90's with the rear fender opening having to stop at the cab due to space, well that just makes me shake my head. :smt075

If Mahindra has plans to import its diesel pickup from India into the U.S., can’t GM clean up Isuzu’s engine and sell it in the Colorado?

The funny part about this to me is that Isuzu was the first automaker to get a diesel to come in under new much stricter emissions rules in Japan a couple years back. I doubt it needs any "cleaning up" more likely GM just won't pay for the certification testing to show that it complies.

I have to agree it is pretty generic, but so is everything else these days. Even that well hyped HHR station wagon thing turned out to just look like a turd. At least somewhere in the world, the LUV badge still hangs on even if it is on a boring design.

It is common rail engine, computer controlled, so it is at least half way there.... But GM would want $30k for it. It someone would come out with a basic truck with the normal options, for a reasonable price, they would sell the others 2 or 3 to one. Put a GEO name tag on it.. Chevy GEO Luv truck.

I followed the Link to:
Mahindra to import truck to USA

Mr. Perez has previously stated the diesel-only pickup would start at $22,000.

The diesel-only truck will use a slightly modified version of Mahindra's recently introduced 'mHawk' 2.2-liter inline four cylinder diesel engine, that debuted in India in the Scorpio SUV.

I've been watching the Mahindra too. Biggest problem I have with it really, is just aesthetics.

I honestly think it's about the ugliest truck I've ever seen.

I don't think I've seen anyone link to this...looks like an updated Rampage to me.

Nice little truck. It needs to get a little better fuel mileage. The Holden, Falcon review was neat. Not that we would get these from Australian either. VW made a little truck called the Polo. I saw one at a VW car show in San Antonio a few years ago. It was from Mexico. Nice little truck like those. 1.8l engine. I think Seat (VW Spain) had a little truck like that. It was most likely the same truck.

We suck with some of the cars and trucks we get imported. We need a Luv type truck replacement real bad. Why would I buy a mid size truck when the full size cost is virtually the same, and so is the fuel mileage.

I will keep my 95 Chevy 3/4 ton, 350 gas engine, 300,000 + mile truck for when I need to pull something heavy. It has pulled a gooseneck trailer often enough. I know I can haul a 450 Case bulldozer with it. 8)
