I've used this site for dash bulbs, it makes a huge difference in certain cars. Haven't done any exterior lighting, but I think you just need either a load resistor or an electronic flasher to make 'em work.

In big rigs I think people have problems if they add too many. Then they need a special flasher unit . But running two should be fine. And the brake and parking lights should also be fine.

Good idea OzLuvTrucker.

My local auto parts stores all have LED replacement bulbs for exterior tail lights. I've been tempted to install them because my darn truck keeps occasionally popping tail light bulbs. According to them - they are more reliable, will take more abuse, and work better with your vehicle's electrical system.

The stock long life heavy duty bulbs I've been using aren't cheap - but the darn replacement LED bulbs are even more expensive. But if I was sure they would last longer, I'd be installing them in a damn quick hurry.

Thanks for the info Cat & nukeday...I think I'll give 'em a try.
