Very nice buck!! Would like to see the brute it took to snap off that G4.

I didn't see squat this morning.

I've been on the lookout for this guy. Saw him last Sunday eve, was in great range but winding through the mesquites. I almost fell outta the stand when he showed up.

133!! Awesome!! Congrats again.

Got me to thinking about my last trip out last season. Had saved a tag "just in case".

My buddy and and I were smack out in the middle of one of his oat fields, about 150 acres. The next fence over is 365 yards out, we've seen lots of deer come through there.

One spot bordering the next field, we had deer come in right at sun down to feed on the oats.

It's Ed's "turn" at bat so I was gonna shoot back up, maybe a doe in the group while he took the buck this time out. So he spots a good one, I'm watching through my scope. He fires... miss, I tell him he hit low, "shit!", fires again... miss, too high, "damnit!" Deer are starting to realize something is not kosher... fires a 3rd time, misses & tells me he can't get a good sight picture in that light. I say "I'm on him, want me to shoot?" Without hesitating he says "yeah! 345!! shoot that bastard!"

Boooom.... slight pause... whop!!, the buck jumps straight up in the air off his hind legs, and crumples to the ground. After the 'woo-hoos' and high 5's we head out to get him. As we get to him we freak out, can tell already he's a monster. I reach down and grab his left beam and pull his head up out of the mud, to our horror see he is broken off on the right at his G2.

He dressed at approx 200, and we guessed he probably woulda scored in the high 130 range. Still one of my favorite rack, broken or not.

Just for reference, that's Ed in the pic, He's 6'6" 280... big ole boy :)

Nice one luv3798!

79'luver that looks like an old ass deer. Did you age him? 5 1/2 to 6 1/2? And if you got him at 350+ yards in any kind of wind with that little 270.......very very nice shot

Heh, yeah that little .270 is a bad ass, I call it 'ol point n click, known yardage it's a done deal, it's when I have guestimate beyond 200, then it's most likely an airball :).
Luckily, there was no wind that evening. And he was 6+ years old, big heavy old fart.

Got this guy yesterday morning... scored 120 2/8.

Saw a doe 10 minutes earlier, let her pass. Happened to turn later and look accross the creek and thru trees and saw this guy sniffing around where the doe had just been, had a small window of limbs and stuff to shoot through, if he would have bolted after her, I would have never gotten a shot.

Sorry for the crapy pic, cell was all I had on me.

120 my best yet. What this guy lacked in mass he more than makes up for in tine length. The G3's are 11 and 11.5 inches!!
