exhaust dumped straight from the block of your 1.8 at 10am will pi$$ off all your neighbors, even the def guy on the other side of the block Also note that revving the engine while out side the truck may result in ruptured eardrums... but it sounded cool

i used to have a old GMC with a 305 auto and true duels. it had exhaust cutouts on it with the cables wired together on the dash. i loved coming thru a nice quiet rich neighborhood at midnight.
yank the cables and drop her in low.

BRRRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHAahahhahhh BAhbah BAh bah BAH bah

my neighbors now dont give me any grief. of course we have the volunteer fire siren that goes off all hours of the night too...so fuck em.

Lol @ Larp...

When I first got my truck on the road, I tried just using 2-1/2 inch pipe and a cherry bomb...but it was so freakin' ungodly loud it hurt my ears whenever I punched it or backed off (and was prone to popping and snapping a lot)...lol. That got me bitched at by my neighbors and finally pulled over and warned by the local cops.

So I added a cheapo auto parts store muffler...but then it sounded like crap. :(

Then a friend suggested that I add a resonator tip...and that was the cure. :D

Now it's quiet enough when I'm sneakin' around tryin' to keep out of trouble - but when I want to get on it...it has a nice throaty rumble to it. Plus it has sufficient back pressure to not cause any noticable low-end torque loss either.

3" straight pipe with a resonator tip right behind the cab sounds cool! it has a LOUD rumble, opposite of a ricer.
