I have a friend who typically works on my LUV with me whenever I have something to do to it. Well, about a week and a half ago, he mentioned to me that he wouldn't mind having a small truck for himself. So we then found this...

...we just got back from a road trip to comache, ok, and picked up this puppy. Engine runs great! interior smells, and the bench seat isn't the best, but not a bad deal for a working truck. The body is in pretty good condition, looks like one of the tires have a slow leak, and the electrical is all buggered up. However, it made the close to two hour journey back to Edmond, OK with only one problem.
Apparently the fuel pump is on a secondary switch. Not too sure why yet, but it has to be manually flipped on. There were wires dangeling out everywhere from this thing, so it is evident that somebody tried to do some major wireing upgrades, but failed. Anyway, as soon as we pull back into our parking lot, the wire that goes from the switch to the fuel pump melts, and of corse, the engine dies. I instantly have him pop the hood, and we disconnect the battery. I guess the switch isn't behind a fuse

.
Electrical (to me at least) is an easy-to-fix problem. I'm going to have my buddy get a spindle of 14 or 16 gague wire, and we'll go around fixing all the wiring problems around the whole vehicle.
Anyway, I told my buddy about this site. I guess we'll see if he jumps on board soon.
