Just wondering if anyone knows what a stock luv runs in the 1/4 mile. I am tempted to run mine at the fun drags and get a baseline run.

Yeah, I got the truck for $200. They might be pontiac fiero bucket seats?
I would like to take some weight out of it before I run it. I just now challenged my friend's Ford Ranger to a race.

That maay, be do-able.

The 77 I had as a teenager back in '86 would out run any other mini truck around, only one to ever come close was an 84 Mazda B2000(I think).

But mine had a Weber carb, header, A/C ripped out, and just before "race" I would advance the timing just a touch.

I had a stock 'yota once, It seemed to be a little peppier than the stock Luv the high school had for a shop truck. I ran a 21.62 @ 63 MPH.

Dang, It felt kind peppy driving it around. Not Like in a v8 type of way, but certainly not in a 20 second 1/4 mile way.

Just gotta be consistent. My guess is that stock luv would run 17s to 19 seconds

Well, Farmer Joe is faster than a stock one with no mods, so I think the 20's are about right. That 'yota felt fast, until it was on the clock. 8O

When I first got my Pontiac Lemans back in high school, I thought it was Hot, even though it was a mostly stock 350 at the time. Me and a bunch of friends got together and took it to the track. I was a little embarrassed when the timeslip showed a 17.5 at 78 mph. It shut me up.

You could paint a picture of a big boot on the tail gate and maybe that will get you in the 19s  but the weight of the paint might slow you down to the high 20s.

My stock 79 Ran 19.80@69mph. With a G200 Dual 44 Webers, cam, header, ported head, 5 speed it went 16.80@ about 80 or 81mph. That was back in 1990. I shifted it at 7800 rpm.
