Pics coming soon, but I paid her off today, and should be driving her home tomorrow. She's a 78 2wd with a buick 3.8 and an automatic tranny. Runs like a scalded dog, just doesn't like to stop. It's sucking brake fluid through the power brake booster. Gotta try to take that out tomorrow, and replace it with the one from my 80 4x4 just to get it home.

Is there any fix for that other than to replace the booster? Auto Zone wants 100 bucks for it... sounds kind of steep to me.

it might not be the booster,it could be just the master cyl. mine was doing the same thing the booster was fine.master cyl i think was 40$ through autozone. later
oh congrats on the new ride

Yeah, it's the master cylinder... found out today on the ride home. I was able to get it to hold enough pressure to get me back, but it's not going anywhere else until I get a new one.

What a ride, though. 8O

This truck is just for fun anyway.... It still has the stock gears in the rear, and even driving 45 down the main road out here sounds like I'm screaming down the interstate. The previous owner put some larger tires (R15 is the only number I remember) in the back, and kept the standard size in the front, so it helps a little bit. I got it with the intentions of it being a weekend driver anyway.... something the wife and I can enjoy together while I build the other one up.

It's got some balls, though. Nothing at all like the stock 1.8

Can't wait to get the blown 383 going in the other one.... :D More power - rrrrgh
