I'm just getting started with my project and thought you guys might get a kick out of what I rigged up today. First of all everyone tells me I'm the king of improvising. I always find ways of doing something. So in planning this LOOOOOOONG project, I want to do 90% of it myself if possible. What might take you guys one hour to do, might take me all day so I know what I'm up against. I plan on getting a welder to install an I-Beam in my shop so I can lift the truck to any level I need to work on. But I knew I would need to get on the ground at some time too. A regular creeper is too small because my legs just hang over and I can't move around. So today I went to Harbor Freight tool and bought a large creeper that had an adjustable head for $16.00 and a smaller creeper for $14.00. They were both on sale today. (The pictures are below.) I went home and put them on my workbench. I butted them up end to end, drilled a hole in each one and bolted a flat piece of aluminum on each side of the square tubing. Now my whole body including my legs will be supported and I am Creeper Cruz'in!!! HAHA.... It even folds in half for storing it!!! I'll keep Ya'll informed on the project!

I know a pariplegic who has built some of the nicest sand rails and toys I have seen. He also owns a huge business and makes bank. I guess when life throws some people a hurdle, they jump into high gear, adapt, overcome, and improvise. People like you are an inspiration for others.

Good luck with your project. Keep us updated.

Very cool man. Enjoy your project, and keep us posted on you progress.

As I was reading your post, and read about the I beam, I thought you were going to install the beam and rig yourself to it so you could fly all around the truck like Peter Pan and reach all sides of the truck.
Your idea makes more sense. :D
