Do Ya'll still want me to make these?
I need a run # and I am seeking how many units to make.
We have the 4-Speed stock boot about ready to submit for a mold.
Need to get a feeler on the rear gasket rubber seal.
I will be paying more for the rear window seal molds so I need to determine demand here.

Got a price on the boots? I need two. But if the price is right, I'll stock up on a couple more. Newbies later on will need them too. :D

I know of two more people who need em but don't get online. Still not a major demand. I hope we can figure out something I can't remember who but someone posted something about steelerubber.com saying they made the rear rubber I seen the front but no info on the back. I hope your search pays off RPOZ11

Making them is not the issue anymore.
Its mostly about supply and demand.
I may just make them and then let the supply deplete as demand fulfills it.

Well, I have an update for anyone who is interested.
I am in direct negotiations to doing the rear window seal.
I will be doing the NON-spreader version first.
In time, I will have some results.
It's a matter of design and trial before I can get a sample piece.
It might be a few months, but it is in the works right now!

add...shifter boot to be coming soon as well.

I had checked into having shifter boots made a few months ago. I talked with 3 or 4 companies and all of them said it wouldn't be cost effective to make them as someone else stated here. The costs for the mold were the most expensive, a couple thousand or more I believe. And even then the price for the boot wouldn't be very cheap, so I gave up on the idea. Good luck though if you can get them manufactured and keep the price reasonable. I might even be interested in one or two.

I would think someone would have that shape of rubber buy the roll, and just have a small siliconed seam at the bottom center. Maybe Restorations specialities. Would this work on the rear window? My windshield looks like it is this way.

Ron, on making these, the rubber has to be formed into a direction.
It would be difficult to turn a straight shape into the turns needed by the design Isuzu incorporated into their back window opening...then asking that that form keep that shape year after year.

What I am doing with these at this pointe is that we are going over and over on the correctness of the sealing design.

I have 3 sample rear window seals at the manufacturer being gone over for the correct shape, etc.

When you speak of the siliconed seam at the bottom center, I have taken this into perspective on remedying that final injection pointe.

I am having these made without that placement visible; by having the injection pointe changed so that the reproduction seals do NOT seperate at that pointe.
So far, I have asked for it to be either at the outside bottom or on the inside bottom position right behind the rear upright of the bench seat.
Thought that was a non-factor area that wouldnt typically be seen.

I have, so far, taken into consideration the draining pointes of the seals, the turns on the corners, the sealing points all around, and we are also incorporating better rubber compounds for all weather considerations.

When will you have these available and what kind of price? I can probably use a couple in the future. What has everyone used before when they removed or replaced their window?

Right now as we are discussing the correctness of everything, once that is agreed to, it's a matter of waiting inline for the job to begin.

This is a LARGE manufacturing company who has a ton of work in house, so it's a matter of when the order is taken in and when the order is received.

Be patient. It will come.

Price to be determined after the first run is completed and delivered to us!

Thanks. I will keep an eye on this thread and see what transpires. I am very patient, too much probably. Mine is running out with Offenhauser though! So what has everyone used before these new ones will be manufactured? In case I have the need for one before the new ones are available.

Thanks,

Chad

I dont have THAT boot, but I might be able to scrounge one of those up soon.

The shifter Boot on a standard 4-Cylinder as I have seen has 2 boots, 1 for the floor pan to shifter arm, and 1 from the trans sealing that oil.

I have all of this , a few times over.

I just am not sure if BOTH are needed.
