I would think someone would have that shape of rubber buy the roll, and just have a small siliconed seam at the bottom center. Maybe Restorations specialities. Would this work on the rear window? My windshield looks like it is this way.
Ron, on making these, the rubber has to be formed into a direction.
It would be difficult to turn a straight shape into the turns needed by the design Isuzu incorporated into their back window opening...then asking that that form keep that shape year after year.
What I am doing with these at this pointe is that we are going over and over on the correctness of the sealing design.
I have 3 sample rear window seals at the manufacturer being gone over for the correct shape, etc.
When you speak of the siliconed seam at the bottom center, I have taken this into perspective on remedying that final injection pointe.
I am having these made without that placement visible; by having the injection pointe changed so that the reproduction seals do NOT seperate at that pointe.
So far, I have asked for it to be either at the outside bottom or on the inside bottom position right behind the rear upright of the bench seat.
Thought that was a non-factor area that wouldnt typically be seen.
I have, so far, taken into consideration the draining pointes of the seals, the turns on the corners, the sealing points all around, and we are also incorporating better rubber compounds for all weather considerations.
