ok, so i bought this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-Che ... dZViewItem

I was really after some fenders and a few odds and ends but as it turns out it runs. The carb was locked up but I put the battery out of my blazer in it and crossed some wires and with a lil gas down the carb she fired right up. Now I got the carb loosened up and can drive it around despite the fact that I have have to dump gas in the carb bowl about every 1/8 mile. Part of me wants to licence it and drive it because wow, it just lays down the rubber  and the other part of me says to sell the motor and get the parts I want off it. But heres the thing, of course I am going to change the oil and all that and i think ima get a temp gauge just to kinda watch it, anything else I should do just to be on the safe side?

I would change all the fluids. Be sure to keep an eye out for gas leaks at the carb since it has been sitting. Its yours to do with what you want, but these trucks are somewhat hard to find in good shape as well as running.
It would be a shame to junk it.

If it's a cap, you can just pull it out and move it, if it's not glued in to well. On my 78 it wasn't even velcroed in. It was just sitting there.
