It's rather odd that the cab has such heavy rust but the bed itself is in great shape.

Yeah, that is my girlfriend's Sister. She now works for and with her fiance'. That is why I am having them do the truck, will be saving money as well. Yeah, there are some really bad spots on the cab, but the bed is in pretty decent shape. Not sure why that is, maybe it was parked under a lean to or a garage or something? But up here in PA we have a lot of salt dumped on the road in Winter, so that is why it rusts the rockers and areas around them. This truck was from Southern PA as well, so that had to help keep it alive all these years. You would have to be extremely lucky to even find a LUV in my area, they just aren't around. I haven't seen a LUV listed for sale in my local papers since last Summer, and I bought that truck! :D That is my other '79 4x4, that will be the firewood truck someday. I am the only person I know that has a LUV. When he looked the truck over before he picked it up, he did say that was going to be some tricky metal work around that curve of the door jamb above the rocker panel. I am sure the truck is going to awesome when all finished. I will post a message when I have more pics.

Actually I think you can get them, but I think the company is out of Australia? And I think they cost like $400 + shipping. I have seen new original stock ones on eBay once in a great while, but they went for just as much money or more. If anyone knows where to get a complete dash made up a little cheaper, let me know.

Added some more pics of the restoration. Now they are going to put the LUV body on the Blazer frame that is pictured and it will have a brand new 4.3 V6 with 200 miles on the motor. Decided to go this way because I wanted the LUV to sit a little higher, have 15 inch 5 bolt S-10 rims and have the push button on demand 4x4. So it will be easier to just switch it to an automatic and use the 4x4 stuff from this Blazer. The motor will be from another vehicle not pictured. The radiator is brand new in the Blazer, so that will be used on the LUV as well. It hasn't been moving along as quick as I originally thought it would, but hopefully it will get more work done on it soon! They have other vehicles they are finishing and they do other work as well. They were wet sanding a 1957 Bel Air Nomad when I went down to take some pics Friday. Anyway, hope you all enjoy the pics and give any opinions or ideas if you like. I am now also thinking about buying one of those auto dimming temp/compass mirrors with map lights. I am sure that would be a nice added bonus to the LUV! 8)
