well its finnaly overcome me...

the g200 is goin tittys up on me. its smokes somethin crazy now. lost alot of power too. i guess the rings are toast. motor smoked when i bought it. im not even gonna bother with it. i got another job now, so its time for a v8.

found a 305/th350 from a running station wagon. the wagon was wrecked at 76k, so the motors good. the 305 will hold me over till i can afford bigger and better.

plan is, keep the motor stock. im gonna put a new timing set in it and slap a rebuilt qjet on it. if i can find a cheap set of block huggers ill use those, but ill more than likely use manifolds. gonna use the competition eng. motor plates for motor mounts, and fab up a tranny mount. gonna keep the stock open rear in it. just gonna be an around town rig and to the track once a month. ill look for a stock auto luv driveline or have one made with one of my th350 yokes and my stocker driveline. more than likely gonna use a camaro floor shifter, or one of those hurst unimatic jobbers.

i shouldnt be anymore than a grand into it when im done. already have some of the stuff to do it.

so as time passes ill update the post.

you damned idaho folks just can't keep one of these things stock.... anyway.. it's too bad you weren't closer.. i could hook you up with the "good" 305 heads, driveshaft and shifter for it... well keep us post on the progress

well if you have the that auto driveline and a shifter ill prolly be keeping in touch with you. im ot really conserned with the performance aspect of the swap. the v8 alone is a triple in HP than the g200.

well i got to lookin at the from of the pup where the motorplate "would" be and theres a steering box in the way on the driver side. dang...

i was thinkin maybe a saddle mount? dont know yet. i think i could fab up a saddle mout pretty easy. just some gasseted tabs from the frame to the saddle and rubber donut mounts to absorb the vibration.
