I have a 79 with a bad carb. Couldn't find one, so I picked up a series 10(?) from a 1980. Most everything is straight forward, except for one connection point. As you stand on the passenger side facing the carb, this port is to the upper right, 3/8", the opening faces you, and it intersects a passage that is connected to some sort of solenoid (with plunger) on the right hand side. Anybody know what this connects to, or have a diagram for me to look at? Much thanks.

My 80 has a charcoal canister up by the battery. A hose runs from it to the carb. When that solenoid says so, the carb will suck the vapors from the canister and burn them. I think you won't be hooking up the wires and I would just plug off the port.
