Installing a tach is pretty straightforward. A power wire, ground wire and the tach lead. Make sure you set the tach to work on the 4 cyl setting. Mounting the tach itself can be as easy as you like. Mounting it to the steering column is the simplest way to go. I dont remember what the stock redline is though.

The tach lead is the signal wire that gives you r.p.m. It connects to the negative lead on the coil. This info will be with in the instructions. Unless you got a used tach from somebody. You can always hunt down the instruction sheet from the manufactuer via the internet.
What brand of tach are you wanting to go with?
