I was happy to see the photos. PeeRoy's truck being black doesn't show so well at night. If you turn off the flash and try the ambient lighting it sometimes makes a better photo. At any rate, you guys have it nice letting your LUVs meet. If only they reproduce and bring forth some offspring!

well i had a little mishap with the low hanging exhaust today. i was pullin out of a parkin lot, and caught it good enough to rip it right off the manifold. so i had to drive it home with an open manifold.

so now the exhaust that was on the pup, is now on the luv.

good thing is though, all the exhaust is above the frame now, so no more dragging that. just frame now!! lol

well i figure id give yall an update.

the luv is running good. though its using alot of oil somehow. im pretty sure its not buring it all. the front main seal does leak though. thing is its goin though like 3 quarts in a week. 8O

but its all good. i keep the oil full, and it just humms right along.

im thinkin about drainin the tranny and fillin it up with some fresh 10 30 from work. either that, or bel-ray stuff like tj white talks about. then again, im not sure if the tranny has a leak also. id hate to put spendy lube in it just to have it leak out in a week.

but other than that, it been really good. ive taken it on a couple 70 mile round trip trips (might not sound like alot, but it is for me) and its done fine. ive noticed that the more i drive it, the better it runs. its like im breaking in the engine again.

My Series 8 manual calls for 30W engine oil for the tranny. I did mine about a week ago, and it's working good. The crap that came out of it was obviously wrong and way too thick. The shifting is very easy now. I am getting a noise, however, and I have to investigate. I think it might be a U-joint. I've already put over 600 miles on my LUV, and it goes over 70mph without flooring the pedal.

Didn't you put a new front seal in? Did you put oil on it? Is the balancer shaft worn? My engine isn't using a drop of oil. Not yet anyway.

no i never put a new seal in the front. thats where its leakin from though. im really not concerned about it. i work at a lube shop, so i can get oil for free.

on another note,

im picking up some new wheels and tires for the luv. i found a set of 18in nissan titan wheels for 150bux. im also gonna buy some 215/35 r18 tires too. im going to run them on the luv until i get the pup done. then im gonna be tuckin alot of wheel!!

heres a picture of them...
Image

they come with some big ol chunky tires too. im just gonna bust them off and try and sell em.

ill get some pics tomorrow of the new wheels.

i didnt have time to bust the tires at work, and the tire machine there wont put a 35 series tire on a rim.

so im gonna have to wait till a not busy day to bust the big tires off the rims, and then till next paycheck to have a place put the tires on.
