Hey Rondog, The Kool April nights car show is at the Redding convention center. I think Derek was talking about meeting at the Drag strip. If you or any one else needs Directions feel free to email me or PM me.

O.K, so I have been thinking about how we can all have a place to do our thing during this meet. Now, just about everyone coming, is from out of town, so I would like to find a place where maybe we could all camp, and what not. So I was thinking if we could find someone who owns some property there, maybe we could pay like $10 a ride or something, and they can rent us a piece of property for the weekend. So I was thinking one of two things. 1- drive down there ahead of times and start knockin on some doors, or 2- put an ad in the Redding paper. So I was just thinkin it would be fun to all camp out together. Maybe have a bon fire, burn some steaks, maybe some tires, what ever. Let me know what you guys think, and I will go from there!!!!

If you all are planning on camping in motor homes I see a lot of people park at the Wally world and K-mart. K-mart in my opinion wouldnt be a good place if you are planning on doing that because thats right on the cruise and Im sure it will be busy and hard to find a place. If I had any property I would let you all camp but I dont. There closest camp ground I can think of is at Whiskey Town lake and thats probably about 8 to 10 miles away from redding. I will do some searching and see if I can come up with a good place for people to stay.

Is that the stardust motel? If it is I think that is one that people live in. Better sleep with one eye open.

That place is the worst of the worst. Unfortunately this place gets kind of nutty on that weekend. I am looking around to see what I can find.

Try the Super 8 Motel. As far as location, it's right in the middle of everything. It's about the same distance to the drag strip, the circle track, and the cruise. The car show is A little bit farther, but not much. It's also right off I-5. Expedia.com , Travelnow.com , and Hotels.com show $57.60 - $68.00 A night. The address is 5175 Churn Creek Rd. Redding Ca. 96002 and the phone # is (530)221-8881. Hope this helps. I'm also looking for some campsites. I am hoping the fairgrounds in Anderson will let people camp there. It would be easy for RV's and tents. I will let you know.
