I have lowered a ton of LUV's and never had to play with driveline lengths. I will tell you that to clear the tunnel I have had to add 2 to 4 degree shims ( wedges ) on top of the blocks to get the nose of the driveline down to clear the tunnel. Any offroad shop should have the shims in stock.

you lower the front 3" and when you lower the rear you actually lift the rear axle and tuck it up into the bed. So the front will be going down and the rear will be going up which is going to throw off the angle

see how the axle is sitting on the leaf springs... lowering blocks go in between the axle and the leafs, pushing the axle up...

you don't need to cut it, just make sure it's at the right angle. Read the posts by Luvrv8, his shim method should work just fine.

I'm guessing the reason why other people said that it was too tight after they lowered it was probably because of the bad angle, fix the angle and you'll be golden, just like a shower.

mine is 3 in the rear and 2.75 in the front and the shaft is fine any more and you may have to do the shim thing but at 2.75 in the front i didn't and its not rubbing or anything and drives great

That is what I've been meaning to say, the angle is what changes and then your driveshaft doesn't want to bolt up like usual. No big deal, but as long as you fix the angle (since it is pointing upward toward the bed) the driveshaft will bolt up straight and you'll gain that factory play. That is all I want to accomplish, just to gain the factory play for the driveshaft so that I don't have that same issue with not being able to get my transmission free from the engine. For my dad and I that was one hectic job, to remove my non-working transmission about a year ago. Thanks for all the replies from everybody because now I have a better idea what to do to fix the bad angle. Appreciate it.

Ok, I've read about lowering the front end with the torsion bars, now I have a picture that one of you is going to circle with paint or explain to me what to tinker with to drop the front end.

The only bolt I see that is adjustable is that one on the left going up and down, is that it? I haven't messed with it because I don't see how that is going to turn the torsion bar very much, however that is the only one I see....
Thanks for the help :D

This is how my torsion bolt looks right now, seated all the way up. If I loosen the bolts so there is less threads at the top, does it raise or lower the body? Thx,

Emo

It should lower the truck if you loosen the bolt.

you could try going the opposite way to see if there is any play in it...
