You never did go into details of the running gear you plan to use? Ratio and spline count and such.

little update finally. x-mas was great, my daughter enjoyed it, and thats what counts.

anyways... finally got a few shots of how the ride height is goin to be, (so far lol) and got the bed off. im hoping to level it out front to back. i got my front tires in today at work. metric volkswagon tires. dont laugh there only 25 bones a piece brand new and just a tad bigger than the $100 a pop moroso's. still working on gettin my front wheels, guy in colorado im buyin from has been goin through weather probs and who knows what else but i should be gettin them soon. here is a few pics to look over.

i was also wondering, you guys with the narrowed luvs, how high is your frame rail at the back of the cab?
im setting at 7 1/2 inches right now at the bottom of the frame rail.
i screwed the tortion bars to lower the front about 4 inches.

forgot to add i also found a luv sitting behind a house. the guy wants $300 for the whole truck, its a long bed. he also has a shortbed that i am goin to buy the bed only for $75. i plan on using the wheel tubs to try and keep a stock look but bigger tubs. i havent looked at either up close yet, gonna try and get over there tomorrow.

I like this thread its weird I just took measurements of the drag luv I am selling and the frame is narrowed about 5-6" and has 15" wide slicks and the hub to hub on the 9" is 49" or 48" I think they are plenty big tires. but what would I know I dont drag race haha. cool stuff. Hold on I ll draw the frame out on mspaint.

time to update finally

got the wheel tubs off the other luv truck, messin with them at work. the biggest progress came today, finally chopped the frame off and welded it back on. i have never done this before and man it was a fkn blast i gotta say. ended up cutting a total of 11 1/2 inches out of the middle.

still gotta put in some gussets everywhere, but the basic part is done.

here is some pics.

the bent part of the x member came from another truck, 69 chevy. we shaved the ladder bar mounts off and drove each end into 8 inch 2x3 square tubing. tacked it, centered it, measured it, retacked, recentered, remeasured and so on lol untill we got it where we wanted it. then filled in above the drop bar where it went into the square tubing.
