Looking for an update here . How did the ingnition work out ? I know it got some brake work done also . Have you gotten a chance to run it yet ?

Not yet. I thrashed on it to make a race about 3 Sundays ago, but the bud who was going to tow it to the track had a funeral that day. (my tow rig was out of town with the wifey). I am waiting on the weekends off to rotate back around and hope the weather cooperates, so I can go make a couple of test passes. I have a couple of local guys that want to part the engine out, one wants the bottom end (he runs in an iron headed class) and the other wants the top. If they come across, I have plans for a 454 small block with an RFD 18 degree top end...

Been a while. I got around to installing the new coil today, as well as rerouting some wires. Had to shim the new starter also. Checked out the tranny after the rebuild, seems to work OK. Fabbed a panel to hold the new ammeter and vacuum gauge, as well as the line loc activation button. Still have to finish the install, (ran out of material, didn't feel like making the 20 mile trip to town.) Also started mocking up the new vacuum pump assembly to see what I need to fab in the way of a mandrel to drive the pump and the alternator. I'm getting it ready for the opening of the track or a new owner...

I also installed a set of step rails on my trailer I haul the LUV on. I got these NIB local for $35.00...

I hope the mandrel I scored comes in early next week. If it does, I intend to start fabbing then. Looks like I am going to have to lower my newly installed alternator some for this to fit...

They are handy when working under the hood while it is still loaded. During a normal year, I run it and load it. It sits under the shed on the trailer til the next race if nothing breaks. I always change plugs before each race, so they are nice to have...

Not at all. The ones I used on this one were for a 99 extra cab chevy. The ones on the old trailer were off a 94 4 door duallie...
