whats that thing that goes to the fuel tank in the bed of the truck behind the driver and could that cause a fuel delivery problem? i put a new fuel filter on the other day and my truck ran like was when i got it for the most part and then this morning it went putt putt on me like i when its out of gas but i know it has gas cause i filled it up last night. and so i put a new fuel filter on after scholl and it still did it this tyme so n e help would be appreciated

that is the vapor systom and i dont think it would cause the problem i would check the carb and the points

Maybe the fuel lines at the filter have cracked and your sucking air? If thats the case, it wont show much of a fuel leak. It might be a good idea to replace the lines from the tank to the filter and from the filter to the pump. If it's original hoses, that's most likely the problem.

I would check your points then your plugs. It sounds kinda like a problem I had, is it dying every once in a while for no reason or back firing? If it is you might want to replace your coil as well my coil went bad on me and it started acting that way. Then I just went down the troubleshooting list....... starting with points and so on and so forth. Hopefully that will help you a little.

check your fuel pressure maybe your pump is gradually dying. later terry :twisted:
