on another note, (I don't feel like making a separate post) my neighbor put her brand new Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer into my room. I drew a picture to help you all understand what happened. My neighbor was going to work, and she got in her car and started it. Well she realized she forgot her lunch, so she put the car in park (or so she thought) really quickly and ran inside to get it. Well she had accidentally put the car into reverse, and somehow the car got enough gas to go up their driveway (on a slight incline), through the street in a U patter, over the curb, the drivers side swiped a wooden post, over a rhododenron bush, and then into my house, specifically, my bedroom.

The car broke a few of the studs in the framing, though, and basically the whole front of the house is going to need to be re-framed, re-done everything, re-sided, etc. The damage doesn't look to bad, at least to me, but I guess that's what the insurance lady said. She said it's like $10,000 in damage. eek. I feel bad for my neighbors, they're really nice. And just last week they bought a brand new Dodge truck.

we're calling it Hurricane Melanie, 'cause that's the name of the lady that did it, and you know in Florida when they board up their houses, they write "hurricane such and such" on them? lol well we were going to to that...til my dad stopped us. lol We were also going to call it Hurricane Explorer. lol

that sucks. Last summer we had 2 cars back into our fence. The nieghbors acrsot the street would leave cars in neuteral and the cars would coast down the slight hill and kill the fence. Then the realy good one happened, the nieghbors toyota corola coasted down out drive way through the garage door and hit my F-150 which at the time was on jackstands wiating for the 33s and knocked it off the stands. I hate nieghbors sometimes...

lol I used to live in Oregon, anyways, I lived on a HUGE hill. This guy left his really nice yellow Mustang (a newer one) parked on the street and didn't put the parking brake on. In the middle of the night, it rolled down the hill and tore through my neighbor's yard, hit a tree, hit an Audi, which slammed into a Volvo. lol. It was pretty sad, but funny.

Wow, that is a lot of force for something moving with no foot on the gas pedal. Glad it didn't hit your LUV or hurt anyone.

The boss's son where I used to work is the only person I have ever known to get a DUI ticket and not be in the vehicle at the time. He parked up on a hill, sorta secluded area, to hang out and drink some more beers. (underage drinking, of course) The car stayed put for a while, but eventualy it got bored of the "party" and rolled away down the hill. It ended up halfway into the family room of a house located at the bottom of the hill.

Oh yeah, in that picture showing the pink interior trim work, it looks like there is an old Dodge Powerwagon in the background in past that boat. My dad has a few of them on the farm seems to always be buying more of them. I spy, with my little eye, something with fenders made of sheet metal thicker than the steel in a LUV frame. ;)

oh yeah it's my boyfriend's powerwagon. It's an old Seattle Light truck that his dad bought a long time ago. It's a 1946, and it still turns over, even after sitting in blackberries for 12 years! It's in the process of getting running again. And yes, that sheet metal is thick!!! lol. My boyfriend also has a 1957 Thunderbird, and a 1969 Chevelle convertable. Those are both works in progess, too. lol. it never ends.

Seattle Light eh? Does the winch on the front have shafts that come clear out both sides almost to the ends of the front bumper? They were put on a lot of trucks built for power companies, apparently for spooling out lines. One of my dad's has that winch. I guess they are not too common so it might be worth a fair bit, or at least be good for a trade of a normal winch and some other parts the truck might need.

Here are a couple of Powerwagon links to pass on:

Good parts source: http://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/index.htm

Monthly magazine and a good forum: http://www.powerwagonadvertiser.com/

Were you in your room when the car hit? That had to be quite a noise and rock the house pretty good.

nope I wasn't home when it happened. My mom said it sounded like something exploded. And some things on the shelves in my room and my brother's room fell off. That was about it. The other night, the window shattered, though. I guess it was the stress from being twisted. And the broken part of the wall kinda collapsed more. lol. oh well!
