Gentleman,
just purchased a 1980 4x4 luv. I am looking for info. quick background...built toyota's in the 80s. dual carbed, milled head.chevy valved screamers. after yrs of v8 rods, bracket racing, pro racing, drag boats etc. i'm going back to my root's. just having fun. what's the skinny on these truck's? Izuzu built? 1.8 ? 2.? engine? whats best for building. interchange? engine wise... I'm a purist, would like to stay away from V6 or V8 if possible. I guess it depend's on the HP output attainable...any info any body can send ,not only about performance, but general will be appreciated...i will be scanning these pages eagerly for info . this appears to be a 1st rate site...where are you based out off? curious... thanks pete

Well, where to start...

There are quite a few mods that can be done on the trucks such as a Weber 32/36 Carb, various system upgrades, and the like.

In these Hallowed pages, you will probably find more than I could even imagine.

Well, welcome world of the LUV. I cant say much about stock ones as mine has a 350 in it, but when I had a toyota 20r in it, she did pretty good. I have driven luvs with 8s 6s and 4s and out of the 4s I liked the toyota 20r the most, but that just me.....
