There are a few people that visit the board that are familiar with V6's. Personally, I don't know much about them or I'd offer some advice.

It may take a couple days for someone to see your post who can help so just be patient. :)

If you get any pictures just email them to me with your info and I'll post them in the photo gallery.

As for the struts, the stock LUV's don't have struts so are you asking if the stock suspension will handle a V8 or are you asking if those people running modified LUV's with struts will handle a V8?

I think you should ask Blue meanie He is from your area as am I (in heart) I am in the military and in Washington, But from Texas. Anyway Blue meanie is from the Central Texas area and has recently I believe dropped a new 3.8 or 4.3 V-6 in his He could be very useful not to mention having someone fairly close helps. You could go to the owners registry and see what he's running not to mention get his e-mail address and talk to him on a more personal level. Hope this might have helped you a bit.

Well, the stock front suspension isn't exactly happy about the extra weight. Some front end parts seem to wear out a little faster and stuff like that.

But myself and other people have been running V8's for years and nothings has ever broken.

That's the nice thing about these LUV's. They're trucks, so they handle the extra weight better than other common V8 transplants (like a Vega for example). The full frame under the LUV is a benefit as well.
