Well cruzing around today I seen this LUV for sale.
http://www.luvtruck.com/Gallery/Misc/images/ToddB%2076-4x4.jpg
I sent Ben that pic back when the site first started and he need pics of LUV's. Well I took that pic 10 years ago at a show we were both at (he didn't remember my truck 8O , I have had the only show LUV in Denver since I built it!!!). I was totally shocked to see it for sale in a Kmart parking lot!! That was the first time I had seen it since. It still looks the same as it did. It has a small block in it and everything is done very top notch. I thought if he wanted under $5k I would seriously consider it. But I figured it would be between $6K and $7500. To top it off, IT HAS A FLEX-THRU back window!!!! 8O 8O Everybody that knows me here know I have been looking for one for over 15 years. I call the number and leave a message. He calls me back and says he wants $9500 for it! Good luck!!! Its really nice but hey, it's a LUV. Well seeing it is way out of my price range, I ask him if he would let me buy the Flex-thru (I was willing to pay up to $100) and put in the extra tinted back window I have in the garage. He said, "No, I don't think I want to do that". What a butthead  He could of had an extra $100 and nobody would know the difference, I don't even think he knows about the window!  So just for that, I hope he sits on it, it had been sitting for the last 10 years he said so you know things are going to have to be replaced!! Sorry just had to vent as this is the 2ND time I have had someone with a flexthru tell me NO!!!!   The first time, the truck went to the crusher! Thanks for reading my fustration. Man I was hoping to have another (LUV) toy in the garage.

I know the feeling !! I saw a 1937 international PU once at a junk yard. I ask the man if it was for sale. he said well it may be , but you cant afford it. I said How do you know what I can or can't afford?? I then told him I would give him all the money in my pocket for the truck. ( my buddy and myself had just sold 2 cars and I had all the money on me ). He with a smart ass smirk said Like I said YOU CAN'T afford it. I wanted the truck bad so I said to him last offer. He then told us to leave and not to bother him anymore.... My buddy told him well your loss pal, we got over 2000.00 cash here. Then he wanted to talk about it ....I said nope WE CAN'T afford it like you said .... I hate not to go to a junk yard but I havent been back.....

some folks are way to hard headed!!!!!!

Later Spanky

:D Thats pretty funny Spanky!!! :D A flex-thru window was kind of like a sun roof for the back window, It flexed open on the sides letting air into the cab and closed shut with the same hardware that a sunroof does. They were somewhat big in the late 70's early 80's. About the time I got where I could afford to fix up the truck in the mid 80's, they quit selling them and I have been looking for one every since. I thought they were the coolest thing and want one for my truck pretty bad.

If its any consolation, if he wants $9500 for it, that means he probably spent about $20K + to build it. Hopefully the truck got him $10,500 worth of ass while he owned it because no matter how you cut it, that truck isnt making him any money.

Ya gotta put yourself in his place, if you had that flex window and you knew how rare and now unique it was (cuz you cant get them anymore) would you sell it? ... for $100?

Um, yea!! I am probably the only one in the US that still wants one and he is selling the truck anyway!! He would get $9500 for the truck with or with out it as probably 99.9% of the general public doesn't even know these window exist!! The new buyer wouldn't even know that it once had one. I look at it this way, would you rather have $9600 or $9500??? With the economy that way it is and the actual loan value that a bank would give for the truck. He is sitting in the negative right now and it sitting on a street corner, it is not going to sell probably for quite a while. Unless some punk rich kid wants it and would probably trash it. Plus he told me, when he bought it, most it was already done and nothing has been done to it since I last seen it 10 years ago.
