I have 2 questions about the '79.

1. Is it at all possible to fit an S-10 body onto a LUV chassis?

And

2. Does anyone have specs for the '79 LUV?

Anything is possible, it is just how much time and fabrication you would want to do. #2, what kind of specs are you looking for??
My question for you is, why would you want to put a S10 om a LUV frame??? The coil suspesnion design of the S10 is so far advanced compared to the outdated LUV torsion bar suspension. Too me, that would be like putting a vette on a covered wagon chassis. It is night and day between my SS and LUV.

Mostly just horsepower and torque ratings. I've got a 79 Chevy LUV, it's a great truck, but the previous owners would take it off-road, get it all muddy and not wash it, so the body is close to shot. The fenders are barely attached to the frame, there are holes in the cab, and it squeaks under heavy braking or turning. I've been looking for LUV bodies, but I can't find any here, and S10 bodies are kind of common. I'm not trying to get into a technical swap, just kind of a pull-the-body-off-and-swap-it-in-1-or-2-days type of a project, since I use it alot.

Hey Bob,

Your 79 LUV is listed at 80 H.P. 95 lb.ft of torque, Not much, but Power to weight is not that bad, as for the S- 10 swap I don't see it getting done in a weekend unless you have a big shop and all the right tools and a few freinds willing to put in some late nights.BUT it is not impossible. :?

I hope this helps

Dave
