have yo got any place around to rent u-hauls?
most places that rent them also rent car dollys to pull behind a truck...this would be fairly safe....assuming the the rear wheels of the LUV are inflated and not froze up

I used a chevy suburban and a standard car trailer to pick up my luv and was surprised at how much power it took the sub to move it. Didnt think the little truck weighed that much. I too was at first going to use a lighter trailer. Glad I didnt. Dont forget to remove the drive shaft if you dollie it.

it won't hurt a manual trans to dollie it.
but yeah if it is an auto removing the shaft is a good idea.

If you have to tow it more than 100 miles or so, it would be a good idea to remove the driveshaft even if it's a manual tranny. There is a specific gear that will have problems if ran too long. I remember reading that in a magazine years ago in an advice column. And the truck in question was a stock Luv.

ya.. it took some grunting of my brothers Dodge to get my Luvs moving.. had to make 2 trips.. got a 2 for 1 deal.. hehe... We got a U-Haul and had to go about 30 miles each way.. so it took most of the nite.. hehe... Cops stop by and aksed us what we were doing.. I told him the turth, I was picking up my turck.. Duh!!! it was almost midnite though... hehe...
They both were in bad shape, so they must have been happy to see them go...
