Bought a 01 Pontiac Formula wit an LS1/4l60E. It is smashed up pretty well, but it looks like the impact didn't hit the engine. It was running when it got hit, and I just hope it's ok. It's a gamble, but my winning bid was $1550.00. That's respectable when the LS1/4l60E's on Ebay go for $5000.00 and I got the whole car. Some parts will be used on the Luv. The most obvious being the bucket seats. Got my mounts from ACE today. Everything looks good, so let the games begin.

Man that is a great deal you could recoup almost all of that cost selling the good suspension components, body panels and whatever you dont use + scrap value of the body. May end up with a $0 ls1/4l60

Sorry for not answering sooner, but I didn't see any notifications from LuvTruck. Anyway, fun is what it's all about on this build. I had one before, back in the mid seventies. It was a 74 with a 350/powerglide. It wasn't a screamer, but it ran really good, plus it started every time. On selling the body panels, I do have an Ebay account, and am planning to sell instrument panel, interior pieces, body panels, lights, wheels and tires, and anything else I can think of. Right now I'm still cutting the body and frame off of what's left of the front end. At auction, I was set on $1550, and the computer said Allstate wants another $100.00, and will release the car, so I jumped on it. When I went to the window to pay for everything, the price was $2400.00. Talk about your sticker shock. Where did the extra $750.00 come from. I knew I would have to pay tax, but Copart charges $500.00 to buy a car if you do not have a salvage license. Didn't even think about backing out. I have been wanting to do this for a long time.

Ouch! I have seen the usual 10-15% auction fees but 500 is well beyond that. Still a pretty good deal reguardless. How dpes everything mechanical look? Any busted pulleys, brackets or anything of that nature?
