I did a little more to the rear frame. Built a panhard bar, put in the axles, and test mounted some tires.

Lines up straight, not bad for a back yard mechanic.

Put the rotors and tires on so I could roll it around.
Image
I made a spacer bar for the front shocks so I would mess up the shiny new shocks.

Ok got her inside. I dont have a jig and the frame is straight so I will weld the new frame in before removing the old one. The idea is that I can keep everything level using the old frame as a template.
Image
I used a hole saw and slid the new frame inside the old frame wells. Everything is looking good at this point.
This is Chris helping me he must be as nuts as me building rusty old junk every weekend.

A little more progress. Got the frame welded in. I made some struts over to the last bed mount and kept the little piece of frame so I will have a place to mount the bumper. I have to put my trailer hitch somewhere.
Image
Man is this thing going to be low. The back shocks are adjustable so I will be able to level it out when I get the right wheels on it.

Got the body off.

I love my lift. I used to have to get 4 strong friends over to help.
Image
Cut the torsion bar crossmember and the old motor mounts out.
Image
I ordered the motor plates they should be in next week.

The front plate came in so we got the motor lined up straight. Fits like a glove. I moved the engine back as far as I could while still being able to keep the wipers.
Image
Mid plate is bolted in. I still need to trim it so the headers will fit.

More progress pics
I clearanced the mid plate for the headers
Image
Had to bend the pass side a bit but they fit good. I knew I kept those headers for some reason. ;)

Time to set the cab back on the frame.
Image

Looks like it needs a little massaging to fit. I set the engine back a little.
Image

Cut the firewall as needed.
Image

Being lazy I just scooted the firewall back a bit.
Image

I am making some plates to give enough clearance to take the trans bolts out. But it should come out ok.

Been a little busy but I have made a little progress. Fed ex brought me a bunch of pipes. I bet the driver was cussing me.

Chris came over today and we worked our butts off. Got the cage started, now we have to pull the cab back off to sand blast and paint.

This is the s&w kit fits ok if you take your time.

Had to lose the vents. I really wanted to keep them but safety first.
