Motor and tranny are in, carb is on, driveshaft is on but still gotta bolt that down, Speedo and shifter cables hooked up. Off to oreillys again tomorrow for some engine mount bolts, and radiator hoses. Getting the driver side bolt to go through the mount was a PIA.. welded on the gussets for the mount a little crooked. I'm sure it'll be fine, might eat through motor mounts though.

Driveshaft bolted up on, motor bolted down, topped off the engine and tranny fluids. Just need a starter, some pulleys and belt, alternator and mount, radiator hoses and fill it up with coolant and ill be able to fire it up. Exhaust would be nice too but I can wear ear muffs for a while :)

Not much happening lately.. ordered stainless steel flexible radiator hoses today, bought some starter bolts and bolted up the water pump yesterday.

Radiator hoses will be here tomorrow, and I've got some chrome water pump, and crank pulleys, along with a chrome alternator mount that'll be here next week. Still need a starter, alternator and some plug wires to fire it up. Almost ready for some summertime cruisin! :)

Top radiator hoses are all finished up, lower hoses are cut but need to get a section of hose that'll fit over the water pump and a reducer... Looks alot Better than rubber hose and they should last a vert long time. Will throw up some pics later.

Looking good. I built my LUV almost 9 years ago. I still have a couple things I need to do that I put off just to get it running. Try to button up all things or you might be like me and keep putting things off.

Thanks man! The plan is to finish up everything before I drive it, besides the exhaust. Going to try to go 3" exhaust and want a quiet tone that has a nice growl when you get on it. I have borlas on my jaguar and they sound amazing, Idk how they would sound on a v8 though

Borla sound great with a V8. They are made in the next town over from me. The owner is a nice guy and his products are top notch. He owed a friend of mine a favor and my friend got his guys to build a header for my Dwarf Car. That was 15 years ago and those headers are still on a dirt race car.

Good to know, those will probably be what ill go with. Got all my pulleys and alternator brackets today. Crank pulley is on, just waiting on the 4 chrome water pump bolts for that pulley. Still gotta do the lower radiator hose, prime the motor and get a couple more parts. So close, can't wait to hear this thing run

Looks like ill be running an electric fuel pump with regulator. Mechanical fuel pump was right in the way of lower radiator hose. It will look a lot cleaner too I think not having a bunch of hoses crammed together and potentialy causing leaks. 1 step forward 2 steps back. Oh well its getting there

Bought a chrome fuel pump block off plate today, along with a starter and ordered an orange aluminum fuel pressure regulator that'll be here the 2nd. I also filled up the radiator with coolant. Just waiting on water pump pulley bolts, fpr. and I still need to get an alternator and electric fan, but I don't need those to fire it up and run it for a little bit

Not a lot happening really.. just trying to finish up all the small things. All I need to do is drop in the distributor to fire it up, might do that today. I pre-registered for the billetproof car show which is the 28th, so I surely hope it'll be all good to go by then. I drove the truck there last year with the 4 banger, would be nice to make it this year with the v8. All that's left is alternator, electric fan, belt, throttle cable setup, shorter carb stud and intake manifold vacuum T.

Fired it up tonight!!!! Thing sounds freaking good!!! Even with no exhaust haha. Only got to run for a couple seconds, my fuel pump is dead, and I dont have a belt or alternator yet. It's a good healthy motor, good oil pressure no smoke. So close, was definetly really good to hear this thing run finally
