You're making progress. Not it's just tightening up those loose ends.

Thanks! Deadline is set at the end of June I hope I can have it done by then. Found a tranny cooler in a box of parts today, and I have a lead on a torque converter. Fuel block off plate is done, gonna throw on some paint and bolt it on

Yes indeed, hopefully soon! Picked up bolts and the fuel pump to carb line today, now I'm working on pulling everything out again so I can put on the oil pan gasket. Still need a torque converter for it so soon it'll run but won't move

Found another luv I will hopefully be getting soon.. its a 78-80 2wd, 4 speed. All it needs it a carb. This is the cleanest luv I've ever seen, not one spec of rust anywhere. The orange paint is a little faded bit could be buffed out, and of course the dash cracked. Guy told me $800 its yours :D also got a buddy with tq. Converter for free :)

Much appreciated! Almost got the guts out yesterday, but my chain and carb plate are both MIA. So I'm gonna get another one and pull it this week sometime. I've got a good feeling ill be driving this truck this summer :) on another note, almost got all the exterior walls put up on the house, and interior walls will be up soon.

will have my Carb plate and chain back Monday, so hopefully next week ill be able to get it out, put oil pan gasket on, take tranny down to a friends house (local tranny guy) so he can look it over and put in the tq. Converter, mount up the b&m, driveshaft, and toss it all back in the truck for good :) today I threw some paint on it, looks pretty awesome, and have been shining up all the chrome with steel wool. Will post up pics later

this was the first side I did and didn't think the overspray would be all that bad.... I was wrong haha. not sure if I should continue the stripe up to the cab and fenders. don't want to go overkill with the orange

You should be able to wipe off the overspray with a little rubbing compound and some elbow grease. Just go at it a little at a time. 8)

I may have to copy this design. ;) But with a different color. Looks good.

Thanks man! And go for it, I also stole the idea but used my own colors. made my rust bucket look a lot better In my opinion

looks great! i know i have seen that design somewhere maybe on a truck i seaside? so no worries about steaking someones one of a kind paint job
these trucks have such great body lines the split paint colors, the edge really makes the colors pop

I actually got the idea from a pic on craigslist for luv parts... Except the truck was bright green with black accents and wheels

Got a little bit done today, got my motor and tranny pulled, New dipstick seal on tranny, oil pan on, New tq. Converter in, cleaned up the motor mounts and gonna add some gussets, still need to do some clearencing on the firewall, and drill a hole in the floor for the b&m cable. Will hopefully have everything back in the truck tonight, and might fire it up tomorrow! Still needs alternator and mounts, water pump bolts and pulley, radiator hoses electric fan and exhaust. Getting pretty close! Can't wait to fire it up and listen to that gear drive whine away

Got the engine and tranny bolted together ready to drop in. Need to find a big drill bit for the shifter cable and finish up with the engine mounts. Hopefully will be in tomorrow, bolted in and driveshaft on. Will be nice dropping it In there for the last time.... Till i blow it up :) and the reason the other torque converter didn't work was cause it was for a th400 not the 350

Cut out some gussets out of 1/8" steel today, made a hole for the shifter cable. Need to weld on the gussets then ill drop everything in. Tomorrow I'm on the hunt for some radiator hoses that will work, a new starter and hose for tranny line. Pics will be up soon
