figured I should start a build thread since I'm starting to gather parts for my little truck. progress might be a little slow since im a 16 yo kid with no job at the moment and 4 other cars that seem like they always need something. this build, and all my other ones are funded by me and me only, I do all the work on everything and don't let anyone else touch them. the story goes I had been looking for a luv for a while, then in December of last year my mothers boyfriend came home and said there was a luv at a customers house that he might sell. the next day we went out to the little town of PeEll and I came home with a complete luv with 82,xxx miles on it that had sat or 6 years for $100.all it needed was a coil and carb rebuild to run, and around $500 later and 1 month of work I had the truck running, driving and street legal with all new brake system and fuel system.

drove it to a buddies house at the beginning of august, went to leave and the truck wouldn't fire, points died. so I had another buddy tow it home and there is sat for the weekend till I came back from wheeling at elbe hills. the truck sat for a month when I thought about what I was going to do to it. after some thought, I pulled the motor and tranny and they went on craigslist

also around February , I found out I had a broken main leaf on the passenger side, so I bought a 79 4x4 from a buddy for $100, took what I needed and wanted and put up some ads for parts from it. after little to no interest I decided to have some fun with it. ran it over a few times and tested articulation of my jeep and the couple yotas we have

beginning of this month I finally got the 4 banger sold, but still had the tranny, yesterday I traded the tranny for the tranny I need for the 350 swap. a short shaft 2wd th350 with a shift kit. I also traded a box of parts for the b&m shifter and that's about where im at today. I still need a few more parts to do the swap, like a motor and radiator mainly, and ill update the thread as I acquire parts. I only have around $950 into the truck so far, including the 2 trucks

it did have the rear stainless, I put it on my truck when I swapped the windows over. I then later swapped it out for the old one cause I didn't like the look. no idea where it went. gave first dibs to you guys but after no interest, I took off the useable parts and had some fun :)

Those look like the factory bucket seats too from what I can see, and not in bad shape. Those really are rare, along with the latch portion of the seat belt that matches up with them.

Pretty sure they are factory buckets. I had an ad up here and cl for a months before I decided to have some fun. Picked up some radiator hoses for the truck today, plan on ordering the radiator here soon. On a side note, I got a new to me car today. Traded my 98 Nissan frontier 4x4 for a 92 dodge stealth r/t. A lot more comfortable than the fronty and better mpg

So does that mean that those buckets are no longer available? I sent you a PM on 7/23 but never heard back.

I have shipped several aircraft seats easily. I get 2 big packing boxes from Home Depot, put both seats in the box, one upside down and use the second box as a cap over the first, UPS will ship this way.

Definately interested. Would like to see if we could work something out to ship them to Colorado.

Thanks Chad

Pm sent. Put my 350 in the luv today just as mock up. The mounts are going to have to be altered cause they are a little off. I'll see if I can get a pic or 2 up. It's a 4 bolt main, bored .30 over, gear drive, a nice hot cam and Corvette stingray 327 202 heads.
