Not much of an update, the luv has been sitting In the garage with the engine out and on the stand. I've been doing a lot of painting to the underbody and cleaning up rust here and there, and slowly gathering parts to finish this. My goal is to have it done by summer

Somewhat of an update. The luv should be getting a lot if attention soon. My house burned to the ground the other night.insurance is covering everything and I figured that instead of replacing some personal items, ill use that to build the luv. And possibly my other 3 rigs lol.

Dude, you sound like you got a fun project going on there. I think it's great that you are doing this yourself and are patient about acquiring things!

Took off the bed, unbolted the driveshaft and put in some bucket seats this week. also bought myself a new project toy. It's a 1980 Kawasaki kz550. Wiring harness us hacked to hell but for $100 I'm not complaining. On the lookout for a new engine. My built 350 needs new bearings and the block might be cracked. I'll try and get some pics up this week. Happy holidays luv truckers!

Sold the kz 550 today, and ordered a 19x22 aluminum radiator, should be here soon. Going to order power by ace engine mounts and some block hugger headers soon. Also bolted in my tranny mount today. Been tearing down what was left of the house this past month so haven't really been doing much to the luv.

an the #s and it is actually an 86-92 5.0 305. It's still going in the luv, I'm not gonna complain with free. I also ran it today on a stand. Runs pretty good, having oil delivery problems though. Gonna give it some new parts and gaskets, And put in my gear drive to give it that wonderful whine

If the motor is from a car ( caprice , Camaro ) it may have a hydraulic roller cam in it . If it is a truck motor it should be roller cam compatable . Shouldnt be a bad powerplant . I understand it has a Q-jet carb now ? The Q-jet with a factory LT1 Z-28 cam , roller lifters , and pushrods should really wake things up yet still be very reliable .

Engine came out of a pickup so it doesn't have the roller cam. I'm just gonna leave this thing stock besides the gear drive and toss it in the truck. I've already got a built 350 4 bolt, but it needs rebuilt. Getting the motor just speeded up the build, I just need some small things and driveshaft work and it "should" be ready to hit the road

haha the snow outta nowhere the last few days has been wild, ended up stuck bad once today, about stuck a second time, fwd acura vs icy hills... ice wins

305 350 either way a smallblock in a luv is going to be a helluva lot of fun! are you planning to rebuild the 350 and replace the 305 later on or just run the 305?

Yeah its nice having a built jeep when there's snow on the ground.... And eventually I'm gonna rebuild the 350 and swap it in, but that wont be for awhile so I'm just gonna run the 305 for now.
