Should feel the torque converter go in 3 times before it 'seats' correctly. Push against it with one hand while spinning it clockwise. Be patient, it sometimes takes several revolutions before you will fell it go it, and it will be slightly more 'difficult' as you go. You will still see a slight amount of the neck of the converter showing, but not a lot of it. Do NOT try to force it on by trying to pull the trans up to the block with the bellhousing bolts...

Definetly isn't seating all the way. It only sucks into the bellhousing like 1/4". Problem is its not sliding onto the 2 oil pump keys

I think Mytmouz was saying to keep pushing the transmission while you turn the torque converter clockwise. Was the combination you have, working together as a unit before?

Motor and tranny are in, hei pulleys, everything cles. But the Tranny dipstick. Too bad I have to pull it out again to put the pan gasket and a new tq. Converter in, along with the gear drive. Also, my stock driveline is perfect. Bolted it up today and it doesn't need to be shortened/lengthened at all. Still need parts to make the motor run, fuel pump, plug wires alternator and a short water pump. Belts hoses more fluids and the right torque converter. Almost there....

rx7 or Mikado seats? the Mikado seats will bolt right up and are very comfortable, but have some rips and tears... rx7 seats match the door panels, keep you in the seat but are no where near close to bolting up and sit really low, but I can make brackets. what do you guys think?

I peraonally like the tan ones but making rails is a pita. The head rests on your mikado seats are different than mine were i think. Mine was all one piece the headrest didnt move.

I'm leaning towards the tan seats also... It's getting there slowly but surely. Lately I've Been trying to find a torque converter that'll work. Then its just the little things for the motor to run, exhaust, and figure out a throttle cable/linkage setup. I also still need to get a swp pulley and I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff lol

Not a lot goin on lately, building a house and have a ford in the luvs house at the moment. Can't decide if I should do an electric water pump or a normal belt driven one. I'll probably do a normal one and use the money saved on other things

i have no experience with electric pumps but i have been told they are more for race applications than a street rig
i would feel more secure with a belt driven pump that cant blow a fuse without my knowledge that is just my opinion tho

however you go with it im ready to see your rig running! so many of us at the 90% mark right now

A Corvette water pump is what a lot of guys are using for the clearance issues. There are some articles on here that detail the whole process.

I'm thinking a belt driven one will go on. And I'm ready for it to be running too! Haven't drove it since august 1st. I can't wait to fire up this beast, drive it and actually be able to break the tires loose :)
