Thanks! Haven't touched the truck for awhile, been helping a buddy do a SOA flip on his rodeo, Fits the 35"s now and has some room to flex. I have some bellhousing bolts, gear drive and a single groove crank pulley for a short water pump coming. also found out another buddy has a 77 luv trailer, and the bed is in better condition then mine so ill probably get that here soon also

Got to do a little work today, decided just to make all new motor mounts since the old ones were crooked, didn't line up and made the engine sit to high. New ones will be power by ace look alikes. Gonna finish cutting them tomorrow, then ill fab up something for the engine to actually mount too.

Thanks! Cut a chunk outta my 1/4 sheet that was supposed to be my jeeps quarter panel guards, but I've already dented them to hell, then found out that was my last cut off wheel I had. Also used the gas in my welder doing some exhaust work, so I need more of that. I think the little things are what cost the most when doing stiff like this lol

Absolutely right all those little things that you need when you need them, and it's 11:00 at night and nobody is open. I need to fill my acetylene rig too. Get paid on the first.

Thanks guys! So far I think I'm only about $300 into the swap. Getting a free motor tranny and shifter was a huge score, and saved me a lot of bucks. I still neeed a few things, but hopefully by summer ittl be driving. Probably would be done already if I had a job lol

Cut out the mounts and tabs, Bolted on the flexplate and the torque converter today. Was getting ready to bolt up the tranny, and realized I didn't fill up the torque converter with fluid. So tomorrow I get to work backwards lol. Pics to come. Hoping to have it set in the truck for good before next weekend cause the Crane and stand are being used to swap out another 7.3 diesel. Motor #5 for that truck. So much for reliable haha

Sometimes it goes like that two steps forward, one step back. At least you remembered now instead of after you got it all together. You are moving really fast.

Haven't been doing much to the truck lately... Been putting up panels to pour the foundation. Wanted to bolt the engine and tranny together today. But the torque converter isnt seating all the way. Tried multiple times. Any ideas?

I don't know what kind of trans you have, but the later model Chevrolet torque converters are a little bigger and the input shafts are something like 30 millimeters longer.

I'm don't know a whole lot about transmissions, and would have to call my transmission shop to find out if I had the right converter.
