trailered it out to my buddys house yesterday to cut the old mounts out. turns out a hammer and a spoon for doing tires is all i needed to get them out. lol my 4.3 is built in dallas and should be here on hump day this week. I sent my order out to powerbyace for the new mounts. Will be doing some little things today. painting parts etc. hoping to have her going in a month.

test fitting my 14" steelies from my datsun. they dont like clearing the disk in the front or back. lol i need longer studs and spacers front and back and i did grind on the caliper a little on the rear. good news is theyre gonna end up working which is great since i love the look of them.

Image

and being dumb putting my 22" steelies on it haha

Image

done a few little things on her. this next weekend should be putting the 4.3 together then its a waiting game for my mounts and few other things. Im ready to get her running, slam her down and cruise her. 8)

Thanks a buddy I work with recommended them. The total was $965. That includes that long block, felpro gasket set, oil pump, and delivery. Then if my core is good they will refund me $180 back for that. I think thats a pretty good deal

Got my motor mounts today from powerbyace and theyre a nice design and I love the finish on them but i must say the welding needs to be going through quality assurance because they suck. ill post pics in a few

Wow. I'm not a welder other than what I learned in shop class 20+ years ago, but I think I could beat that with the old Lincoln stick welder and some damp 6011 rod.

8O I guess I am a better welder than I thought! Doesn't look like very good penetration either.

In that top pic half the weld is on one side only, the second pic has almost zero penetration for a long stretch, and the rest are more of the same. I'm no expert master fabricator, but I think I'd be embarrassed to sell something like that. From the look of it, the amount of welding is probably overkill so it would hold, but it just looks fugly.

The owner of Power by Ace is a pretty cool guy. He walked me through replacing my axle bearings on my 9 inch a while back over the phone. I would expect you will hear from him soon. Maybe he has a newbie in the shop?

Sure looks that way. I have heard nothing but good about Power By Ace up to now. No personal experience to go on but plenty of good word of mouth advertising for them. The part still looks like a quality piece, so much so it makes the lackluster welding stand out even more.
