Ran into a snag . Motor mounts were welded in 3/4 " to far forward . This would not allow me to get the water pump and fan installed . Back to the chassis shop for thr mounts to be cut out and moved . Also had a few other things done . Had hooks weled to the frame to strap truck down , panels made for speakers in rear cab corners , battary tray cut out & a set of universal traction bars cut up and welded to the rear shock mounts . Pics to follow .

Got some time to workon this . I dont think im going to have it ready for the season opener , but im trying .

This is the material for the interior . I am having the door panels , seat , kick panels redone .

I got the cooling system completed yesterday . I bypassed the cable heater block valve , as i have never had one that didnt leak . I added a manual valve for summer when the air is on . Got the Condensor and liquid line filter drier mounted and hooked up . All that is left is the compressor mount and hook ups for A/C . Well enough talk here is the current picks .

Did a little more on it , but not much . Not going to make the season opener with it . I was planning to have my wife drive it and contend for rookie of the year .

Upolstry off for redo . Door panels , seat and kick panels . Factory tank is being sumped modded and coated . Glass is out for new winsheild gasket and rear window seal . Dash repair in progress for new dash cap . Stereo going in new speaker panels covered and onstalled . Lots of little stuff done . Throttle pedal modified and cable fitted and installed . Choke cable installed ( this will also double as a staging RPM tool with the choke flap removed ) . Reused one of the vapor recovery lines from the tank as vacuum for modulator valve . Moved wires around in harness to make factory relays work for fuel pump and distributor instead of ballast bypass and combo fuel pump/distributor . Truck is getting really close .

Small update : the new owner overevved the motor at the drag strip and cavitated the oil pump . This killed 5 rods . All the bearing were specked . Crank was galled . Piston rings were not even seated yet . New owner bought a 383 and i installed it . There is more to the story , but i dont want to post it online .
