Hello all!
I bought my LUV in 2009 and after years of eking out performance from the tired old engine I had to replace it. I went with another isuzu 4 banger. I figure this time around I can share what I have done so far.

Over the last week I stripped out some nasty disgusting carpet, cleaned up/patched holes in the floor and added a few coats of duplicolor bedliner to the floorpan as well as some rubberized undercoat to the wheel wells and underneath the cab.

File comment: I bagged the shift levers and masked them off to keep sanding dust out of the drive shaft and inside the cab where it would be easier to clean than on my grass.

I used a steadily escalating amount of force. Starting with hand held wire brushes, moving up to a drill powered paint stripper. Later I used some paint stripper as well but forgot to take pictures of that. Sorry.

I am of the belief that you should make damn sure gravity doesn't take chemicals places you don't want it.

After the first coat this is what I ended up with. I was feeling pretty excited at this point.

I was pretty happy with the texture of the first coat. I figure all the whining I've heard over the years about excess spray buildup was probably from people who did not read the instructions. Shake the can for two minutes before use and only apply on low humidity days between approx 70 degrees farenheit to some higher number than my climate gets ever. I left my sunroof open for ventilation but closed all my windows and the door I was not standing in. That brought the temp from about 65 outside to a perfect eighty degrees or so for curing.

Everything back! There will be more posts as this summer progresses, I'm sure.

Thanks for reading!
